What is EYPP?

Early Years Pupil Premium

The Early Years Pupil Premium is extra funding that nurseries can receive to help support your child’s learning and development. It’s designed to give children from lower-income families the best possible start in their early education.

Who is it for?

Your child may be eligible if they are accessing funded early education (like the 15 or 30 hours) and you receive one of the following:

  • Income-based benefits (similar to the 2-year-old funding)
  • Universal Credit
  • Tax Credits
  • Pension Credit
  • Support under the Immigration Act (Part 6)
  • Your child is in care or has previously been in care

Important to know

The EYPP funding is paid directly to the nursery, not to families. This helps us provide additional support, resources, and experiences that benefit your child and others in similar circumstances.

How to apply

If you think you might be eligible, simply tick the relevant box on your Parent Declaration Form. We’ll take care of the rest and apply for the funding on your behalf.

When is it checked?

EYPP is reviewed once a year, so we’ll check eligibility annually to make sure your child continues to receive the support they’re entitled to.
