A Creative and Inspiring Nursery in Barrow-In-Furness
Welcome to Bright Horizons Barrow Day Nursery and Preschool for children aged 3 months to 5-year-olds. Our nursery is bright and happy environment where each day your child will learn, make friends and grow. Located in the grounds of Furness General Hospital, making it an ideal nursery for hospital staff and local families. We have onsite parking, so pick-ups and drop-offs are easy, and we're close to Barrow-in-Furness train station.
At our nursery, we provide settling-in sessions to assist your family in transitioning smoothly to nursery life. We collaborate closely with you to ensure your child is prepared for nursery, providing all necessary information for a successful start with us.
Throughout our age-focused rooms, we provide the best start to schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by our own Early Years specialists. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress, whether that involves transitioning between rooms or preparing for school.
In our spacious under 2s room, we'll follow your child's own individual routines, ensuring an easy transition to nursery life. Young minds are nurtured with our enriched sensory area and private garden. Your little snoozer will also be able to follow the same sleep routine they have at home thanks to our cosy sleep area.
Your busy toddler will love discovering the toddler room in our Barrow nursery, where we encourage their development by allowing them to follow their individual interests and explore at their own pace.
If your child loves the great outdoors, then they'll adore having free-flow access to our specially designed all-weather gardens. To ensure your child has the very best experience, our garden has two areas for the different age groups, giving them access to the most age-appropriate resources.
While your child is busy exploring and having fun, we can keep you updated via our Family app. Available for all Bright Horizons parents, this will keep you connected with your child's day-to-day experiences and up to date as they develop during their time with us.

Fee Calculator
Our calculator enables you to estimate your basic fees BEFORE childcare funding is applied. We’ve taken this approach as funding is dependent on your own very individual situation, how old your child is, where you live, whether you’re working and so on.
Our comprehensive funding guides provide guidance on what funding you’re likely to be eligible for, we can send this to you after you’ve estimated your fees.
When you visit us, we can also help you understand your options and work out what your net fees will be after any childcare funding is taken into account.
